The Tone:
This is a full-time role at NielsenIQ, located in Chennai, India. NielsenIQ focuses on delivering critical MLOps projects globally. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions and leading a team responsible for MLOps delivery within machine learning projects. The work involves complex data pipelines for ML workloads and microservices architectures.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Design: Design scalable software solutions with an emphasis on quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Architecture: Lead software architecture decisions, ensuring the design aligns with business requirements and technical standards.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with Research Leads, Architects, and Product Owners to gather requirements, design MLOps pipelines, and coordinate software delivery.
• Team Leadership: Lead a team of experienced and junior developers to deliver assigned solutions, including performing code reviews and mentoring.
• Accountability: Be accountable for managing the technical debt of the systems supported.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Over 10 years of professional software development experience, coupled with a strong foundation in software engineering principles, architecture design, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) fundamentals.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience leading teams and projects, with demonstrated involvement in data pipelines (ideally for ML workloads) or complex microservices architectures. This includes prior work with Python and/or Machine Learning projects, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), DevOps practices, and data transformation tools (pandas, Spark, Arrow, Databricks).
• Skills: Proficiency in designing software architecture and data pipelines, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and familiarity with cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP). Knowledge of testing frameworks and test automation is also required.
• Bonus: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with SAFE being a distinct advantage.
