Civil Engineer | CORRE, Inc.
The Tone:
This is an early career position at CORRE, Inc., available for highly motivated and qualified civil engineers. We are hiring for in-office design-focused roles, in-field construction inspection roles, or a combination of both, located in Waukesha, WI. CORRE, Inc. is a successful firm engaged in critical roadway design and construction projects. This role is vital for contributing to our construction and/or design groups, supporting essential infrastructure development and ensuring high-quality project outcomes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Oversight: Contribute to the oversight of roadway design and construction projects, as well as general projects in the field.
• Design Preparation: Prepare design plans utilizing civil engineering software, specifically AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Engineering Calculations: Perform necessary engineering calculations to support various project requirements.
• Project Support: Support engineers with their day-to-day tasks across multiple disciplined projects.
• Stakeholder Communication: Interact and communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other agencies regarding project progress.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. This is an early career opportunity for individuals seeking to apply their foundational civil engineering knowledge to roadway design and construction projects.
• Experience: Must hold an Engineer in Training (EIT) designation or have successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam prior to the start date. Practical experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D software for calculating earthwork on construction projects is required; experience gained in an academic setting is explicitly acceptable. Applicants must possess a valid Driver’s License and be able to provide their own reliable transportation, with the ability to travel for long drive times and overnight trips to rural or urban areas.
• Skills: A thorough understanding of AASHTO and ASCE standards and policies is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail, are paramount for interacting with team members, clients, and agencies. This role requires soft skills such as a team player attitude, openness to feedback, adaptability, active listening, and a strong work ethic. The ability to handle multiple deadlines and consistently produce high-quality work under tight schedules is also critical, and availability for night work, weekends, and flexible scheduling is required.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Wisconsin Department of Transportation and local agency procedures will be considered a significant plus.
