Case Management Intern | I AM VOICES

The Tone:
This is a hybrid internship role at I AM VOICES, based in the Charleston, SC Metropolitan Area, offering flexibility with some remote tasks and required on-site participation. I AM VOICES is a not-for-profit organization established in 2017 to provide essential restorative services for women who have experienced trafficking or sexual violence. Through both residential and community-based programs, the organization empowers participants with life skills, education, therapeutic services, and personal and professional development. This Case Management Intern role is crucial for directly supporting these services, helping individuals rebuild trust and confidence as they grow, thrive, and reclaim their lives.

• Mission: This person will coordinate services and ensure participants receive critical resources to support their recovery and growth within a supportive team environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Services: Directly support critical case management services, ensuring effective delivery of restorative care to program participants.
• Coordinate Resources: Assist with the coordination of various social services, connecting participants with necessary external and internal support systems.
• Maintain Records: Meticulously maintain detailed and accurate documentation and records for each participant, ensuring compliance and continuity of care.
• Facilitate Support: Ensure that participants consistently receive all necessary resources and tailored support, addressing their specific needs for personal growth and well-being.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely and effectively with other team members to holistically address and meet the diverse needs of each individual participant.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student or recent graduate pursuing or completed a degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in Case Management and Case Management Services; familiarity with core Social Work and Social Services practices.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear interaction and documentation; organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail for accurate record-keeping; cultural competence and empathy to build trust and work effectively with diverse individuals; ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to support participant needs.
• Bonus: Experience with trauma-informed care.
