Program Overview: Business Solutions Internship Program

Our Business Solutions Internship Program offers a dynamic 10-week experience meticulously designed to provide undergraduate students with a comprehensive introduction to critical aspects of banking. This includes exposure to banking operations, process improvement, business intelligence, production management, and valuable career opportunities within bank operations.

Interns will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with seasoned professionals across our banking teams. This hands-on experience will provide invaluable insight into operational processes, client engagement strategies, and the various business initiatives that drive success and community impact at SouthState.

Throughout the program, your professional growth is our priority. We are committed to equipping you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to advance your career. You will develop a deep understanding of our brand voice and digital culture through engaging activities focused on professional development, analytical training, and networking. Key components of the program include:

  • Onboarding Week: Kick off your internship with a comprehensive orientation. This week features vital training sessions, opportunities to network with peers and SouthState leaders, and an introduction to our banking business.
  • Hands-On Experience: Work alongside high-performing teams, actively participating in daily activities. This will enable you to build crucial analytical and creative skills while gaining profound insight into critical banking operations processes.
  • Mentorship & Support: You will be partnered with experienced team members who will provide invaluable guidance, answer your questions, and offer constructive feedback to help you navigate challenges and grow professionally.
  • Speaker Series: Gain privileged insights by hearing directly from senior leaders about industry trends in banking and deposit operations, along with strategic advice on how to maximize your internship experience.
  • Networking Opportunities: Engage in organized events designed to connect you with peers, employees, and leaders across the organization, all while contributing to meaningful community initiatives.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Actively participate in all internship program activities, including various workshops, training sessions, and special projects.
  • Assist with data analytics, due diligence on projects, and provide administrative support for business intelligence, process improvement, and production management programs.
  • Collaborate effectively with business solutions team members, operations managers, analysts/specialists, and team leaders to contribute to real-time business initiatives.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks, maintain meticulous attention to detail, consistently meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Education: A 3.4 GPA is preferred. You must be a current undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Project Management, Information Systems, or a related field. We are specifically seeking a Rising Senior graduating in 2027.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required. Candidates should possess a strong analytical and creative mindset, coupled with an eagerness to learn. Experience and/or exposure to Visio, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Power Query are considered a significant plus.
  • Attributes: We are looking for individuals who are detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work effectively under pressure.

Training Requirements:

  • Complete all mandatory new hire compliance training and New Employee Orientation as required.

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to effectively access and interpret information presented on computer screens, various documents, and reports. The position involves extended time using a computer, which can be comfortably accommodated by sitting or standing at an appropriate desk. WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is remote 5 days a week, requiring 40 hours a week, with minimal travel.

In accordance with Colorado law: Colorado pay for this position is anticipated to be between $31,943.00 – $47,915.00. Actual offers will be determined based on the applicant’s skills, experience, and education.
