• Mission: To ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal quality standards by performing detailed reviews of post-closing retail mortgage loans.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Review Loans: Conduct detailed post-closing retail mortgage loan reviews to ensure adherence to both regulatory requirements and internal quality standards within established timelines.
• Validate and Identify: Perform comprehensive file reviews to validate all Closing Disclosure (CD) information, confirm fee accuracy, and identify potential compliance concerns and other quality issues within mortgage loan documentation.
• Manage Production: Operate within a queue-based production environment, managing a high volume of loan reviews while maintaining a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Collaborate on Risk: Work closely with team members and leadership to support overarching risk management objectives, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
• Inform Policy: May contribute to informing policies and procedures designed to maximize profit potential and minimize regulatory exposure.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, demonstrating foundational knowledge applicable to business risk or financial services. This role is suited for early-career professionals.
• Experience: Less than one year of applicable professional experience. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the capacity to work effectively in production-based or quality-driven environments.
• Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, the ability to quickly learn new processes, systems, and complex regulatory requirements, and strong organizational and time management skills. Effective verbal and written communication is essential, as is the ability to meet production goals in a high-volume setting.
• Bonus: A basic understanding of the operations, products, services, and associated risks/controls within the financial services business line, particularly mortgage operations, compliance, quality control, or risk management. Familiarity with applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory trends is also helpful.
