Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator | Exact Staff

The Tone:
This is a full-time, on-site role for Exact Staff, located in Gardena, CA. This position supports financial operations for a manufacturing and distribution environment. The role is crucial for managing core financial functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll, ensuring accurate transaction processing, inventory-related accounting, and timely financial reporting. The Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator will operate in a hands-on setting, applying their understanding of goods flow, cost structures, and high-volume invoicing.

• Mission: Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll to ensure accurate financial transactions, inventory accounting, and timely reporting within a manufacturing and distribution setting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Receivable: Apply and reconcile incoming payments, monitor aging reports, manage collections, and resolve related discrepancies.
• Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, perform 3-way matching, ensure accurate expense coding, and manage payment schedules.
• Payroll Administration: Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees, track timekeeping data, and manage tax filings and deductions in compliance with regulations.
• Inventory & Cost Support: Assist with inventory tracking and reconciliation, support physical inventory and cycle counts, and help track cost of goods sold.
• General Bookkeeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate general ledger entries, perform bank and sub-ledger reconciliations, support month-end/year-end close, and prepare financial reports.

The Must-Haves
• Background: 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or distribution, with a strong understanding of AR/AP processes and payroll.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience with accounting or ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar), and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Skills: High attention to detail and ability to manage high transaction volumes effectively.
• Bonus: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; experience with inventory management or ERP systems; knowledge of freight, logistics, and supply chain billing; understanding of cost accounting principles.
