The Tone:
This is a full-time, on-site role at Kappo Masa, part of Masa Restaurants. This position supports the day-to-day accounting operations of a restaurant group. The Bookkeeper is critical for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, performing reconciliations, and assisting with payroll. This hands-on, execution-focused role serves as a key liaison between restaurant operations and the accounting function, ensuring smooth financial workflows.

• Mission: To ensure accurate financial record keeping, manage accounts payable, perform reconciliations, and support payroll for multiple entities, acting as a key liaison between restaurant operations and accounting.
• Tech Stack: QuickBooks, POS systems (familiarity preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Processing: Record daily financial transactions across multiple entities and maintain general ledger integrity with proper coding.
• Accounts Payable: Process invoices, manage full-cycle accounts payable, reconcile vendor statements, and support vendor relationships.
• Banking & Reconciliations: Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations, monitor cash activity, and identify discrepancies.
• Payroll Support: Coordinate and validate data for payroll processing while partnering with restaurant managers for accurate documentation.
• Reporting & Compliance: Assist in preparing financial reports, ensure adherence to internal accounting standards, and support external accountants with clean data.

The Must-Haves
• Background: 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
• Experience: Proficiency in QuickBooks, with a strong understanding of accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping in high-volume environments.
• Skills: High attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, clear communication with diverse teams, and a problem-solving mindset.
• Bonus: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, experience supporting multi-unit or multi-entity businesses, and familiarity with POS systems and restaurant financial workflows.
