Management Trainee | Dayton Freight Lines, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time, 24-week Management Trainee program at Dayton Freight Lines, Inc., offering hands-on experience in various service centers across the U.S. Dayton Freight Lines, Inc. is a stable and growing organization specializing in the Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) transportation industry, known for its modern facilities and technology. This critical role provides recently graduated or soon-to-be graduating seniors with a unique leadership opportunity, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to transition into a management position within the company upon successful completion of the program. The program is designed to immerse individuals deeply in the company’s culture and the broader transportation industry, fostering future-based leadership capabilities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operational Immersion: Actively participate in all areas of Dayton Freight’s operations through a hands-on, 24-week job experience, contributing to daily tasks and gaining a holistic understanding of the business.
• Industry and Company Acumen: Acquire comprehensive knowledge of the Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) Industry, including its core principles, as well as an in-depth understanding of the Company’s specific culture and its position within the broader transportation sector.
• Leadership Skill Development: Engage in structured learning opportunities focused on future-based leadership skills, fostering the confidence and competence necessary to effectively assume a management position upon program completion.
• Team Collaboration & Experience Expansion: Become an integral part of various teams across service centers, expanding upon personal and professional experience through active contribution and collaborative problem-solving within a stable and growing organization.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a valid Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college. This program is specifically designed for recently graduated or soon-to-be graduating seniors, serving as an entry-level pathway into management.
• Willingness to Relocate: Must demonstrate a clear willingness to relocate to any of the Company’s Service Centers.
• Shift Adaptability: Must be willing to work a rotation of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts to support continuous operational requirements.
