Block Advisors Accounting Specialist | H&R Block

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Transaction Processing: Process various forms of financial information and materials, accurately entering data into accounting or other financial systems while ensuring compliance with relevant reporting requirements.
• Bookkeeping and Payroll Management: Handle fundamental accounting tasks including data entry, bank reconciliations, and comprehensive payroll management for small business clients.
• Account Reconciliation and Reporting: Perform reconciliation of accounts, categorize transactions appropriately, and compile essential monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Client Support and Collaboration: Raise questions and address client accounting irregularities, provide excellent customer service, and collaborate with Account Managers and Tax Advisors by sharing relevant bookkeeping and payroll information.
• Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare critical financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, communicating with various stakeholders like clients, suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent, coupled with knowledge of bookkeeping practices, generally accepted accounting principles, and procedures.
• Experience: Client services experience, familiarity with bookkeeping software, spreadsheets, and database management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Open Office.
• Skills: Analytical and detail-oriented, good verbal and written communication abilities, capability to multi-task across multiple window applications, and the capacity to complete assigned projects on time with minimal supervision.
• Bonus: Associate’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.
