Job Title: Behavior Therapist Internship (Part-Time)
Location: Oak Lawn, IL clinic and surrounding areas. This is an in-person role, requiring work in both clinic and in-home settings.
Job Type: Part-time, with a minimum commitment of 6 months.
Pay Structure:
• $19.00/hr for client sessions and office work once RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certified.
• $17.00/hr for client sessions and office work during in-person shadowing, prior to RBT certification.
• $15.00/hr for completing RBT modules and virtual onboarding.
• A $150 Sign-on bonus is provided after three months of employment.
About The Role:
Instructional ABA Consultants is seeking motivated interns to provide essential one-on-one support to children diagnosed with Autism, utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This part-time internship offers invaluable hands-on experience and is specifically designed to be suitable for current students or recent graduates who are pursuing degrees in psychology, education, or other related fields. The role involves direct therapeutic interaction and the implementation of structured behavior interventions.
Schedule:
The role requires availability for both daytime and evening shifts, specifically from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Additionally, candidates must be available to work one weekend day. All sessions are conducted in-person, either within the clinic or in clients’ homes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver direct, individualized ABA therapy in a clinical environment.
• Strictly adhere to and implement treatment plans that have been developed and overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
• Accurately collect and meticulously report all session data, ensuring submission within a 24-hour timeframe.
• Actively participate in required training sessions and maintain consistent, clear communication with the assigned BCBA.
• Comply with all ethical standards pertinent to ABA practice and strictly follow HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality and privacy.
Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Ideal candidates are students pursuing a degree in psychology, education, or behavior analysis.
• Experience: Previous experience working with children, whether paid or in a volunteer capacity, is necessary.
• Skills: Demonstrable strong communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and effective time management are essential.
• Background: Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check.
• Transportation: A valid driver’s license and current proof of auto insurance are mandatory.
• Certifications (Preferred): CPR/First Aid certification is preferred but not strictly required.
Reports To: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
