What You’ll Actually Do
• Plan: Plan, perform, and report contract audit assignments related to procurement and contracting activities between the Federal Government and the Contractor.
• Analyze: Prepare working papers and analyze contractor data using automation tools to evaluate financial records.
• Examine: Perform assigned audit steps such as tests and examinations of a contractor’s direct labor and material costs.
• Verify: Check reports, records, ledgers, and other documents against invoices, receipts, payroll slips, and other source documents.
• Document: Maintain audit working papers, including the preparation of schedules, summaries, and reconciliations as instructed or appropriate.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be a U.S. citizen and hold a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, or a related degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Public Administration that includes 24 semester hours of accounting (which may include up to 6 hours in business law). This is an entry-level role.
• Experience: No professional or prior auditing experience is needed, but candidates must have a GPA of 2.95 or above. No certifications, including a CPA, are required.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills for analyzing contractor data, meticulous attention to detail for checking financial records, and foundational understanding of auditing principles to verify the appropriateness of charges and proper transaction recording.
