What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Processing: Analyze and process various business documents relevant to accounting operations.
• Financial Statement Preparation: Analyze accounting and financial data to prepare accurate financial statement journal entries.
• Account Reconciliation: Prepare reconciliations for general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy.
• Compliance and Budget Support: Assist in preparing tax information and contribute to the preparation of budgets.
• Auditing and Collaboration: Test SOX and Non-SOX controls during auditing and interface with various departments outside the Controller’s Organization to develop collaborative relationships.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Concurrent enrollment in a bachelor’s degree (or higher) seeking program for the duration of the experience, with Accounting as the required major; however, other business majors may be considered.
• Experience: Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future. No prior professional experience is explicitly required for this internship.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrated by robust academic performance, are essential for analyzing and processing business documents and financial data. Proficiency in foundational accounting principles is required for tasks such as preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and contributing to tax information. Acute attention to detail is critical for accurate financial analysis, reconciliation processes, and testing SOX and Non-SOX controls.
• Bonus: Military experience is a plus for candidates, and the ability to provide reliable transportation to and from the place of work is beneficial for daily operations.
