The Tone:
This is an internship at Carr, Riggs & Ingram, located in Grand Rapids, MI. What You’ll Actually Do
• Auditing: Perform substantive auditing procedures in assigned areas to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Understanding: Obtain a clear understanding of the work to be performed and its specific purpose within the audit process.
• Documentation: Prepare comprehensive working papers that adequately document the tests performed and procedures followed.
• Application: Be alert to the proper and consistent application of accounting principles throughout audit procedures.
• Identification: Identify and document control deficiencies or other matters that warrant the attention of management.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Completion of two or more years of university education prior to the internship start and actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Experience: Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Skills: Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, proven ability to work independently and as a team, ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others, and a high degree of discretion when handling confidential information.
