What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Procedures: Learn and execute audit procedures to evaluate the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, reviewing financial records and supporting documentation to ensure adherence to accounting principles and regulations.
• Internal Controls: Assist in the assessment and testing of client internal control systems, collaborating with team members to deliver a high-quality product within specified timeframes.
• Client Relations: Build rapport with clients, address their inquiries and concerns, and proactively identify and develop strategies to better serve their audit needs.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze financial statements and their disclosures to identify any material misstatements or discrepancies, implementing appropriate corrective actions as necessary.
• Professional Development: Continuously enhance auditing skills and knowledge through participation in training programs, staying current with accounting and auditing standards, and pursuing relevant certifications like the CPA.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree. This is an entry-level career position requiring foundational accounting knowledge, including GAAP and GAAS.
• Experience: A minimum GPA of 3.0 in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics, and having sufficient units (or being close) to sit for the CPA exam. Demonstrated interest in pursuing or obtaining CPA educational licensure requirements.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment, and the ability to deliver quality results. Possesses foundational accounting knowledge (GAAP and GAAS).
