What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Procedures: Learn and perform audit procedures to assess the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, examining financial records, transactions, and supporting documentation.
• Internal Control Evaluation: Assist in evaluating and testing the effectiveness of clients’ internal control systems, collaborating with team members to deliver a quality product within client timeframes.
• Client Relationship Building: Build relationships with clients, respond to inquiries, address concerns, and proactively develop ways to better serve their audit needs.
• Financial Statement Analysis: Analyze financial statements and related disclosures to identify any material misstatements or discrepancies and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Professional Development: Continuously develop auditing skills and knowledge through training programs, staying current with accounting and auditing standards, and pursuing relevant certifications like the CPA.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics (BS/BA/MSA/MST/Certificate Program), and a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Experience: Has earned enough units (or is close) to sit for the CPA exam and demonstrates interest in pursuing or obtaining CPA Educational Licensure Requirements.
• Skills: Foundational accounting knowledge (GAAP and GAAS), excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a willingness to work in a team environment.
