The Graduate Development Program (GDP)
Find your superpower with the Graduate Development Program. This is a year-long development program designed for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. As a graduate, you will help shape the future of National Grid by bringing fresh thinking and new perspectives. We offer real responsibility and the opportunity to move with purpose from day one, putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.
The program begins with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation, providing:
- Exposure to all parts of the company.
- Networking opportunities with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders.
- The chance to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US.
Following Orientation, you will transition into a full-time position as outlined below and participate in ongoing development activities, including:
- Quarterly development sessions.
- Active mentorship.
- A Hackathon Project.
About The Position: Associate Program Manager, Reliability Compliance & Policy
Are you ready to jump into the world of reliability and compliance that keeps the electric system safe and secure? As an Associate Program Manager on the Reliability Compliance & Policy team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring National Grid is compliant with NERC Reliability Standards, NPCC, and ISO requirements. You’ll support key regulatory requirements that maintain the reliability and resilience of the Bulk Electric System.

Our Reliability Compliance Program Is a Risk-based Framework that:
- Communicates compliance information and requirements to affected entities, functions, and operations personnel.
- Delivers and promotes an effective culture of compliance across the business.
- Guides and supports the achievement of continuous improvement in compliance performance.
This role may require occasional in-office days for team collaboration, meetings, and trainings as needed. Your primary office for this position can be in Northboro, MA, Syracuse, NY, or Brooklyn, NY. Role requirements are subject to change based on business needs.
What You’ll Do
You’ll gain hands-on experience working with different teams and projects, helping to keep our system compliant and running smoothly. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead discussions with internal stakeholders to develop responses to regulatory information requests.
- Prepare Incident Analysis (IA) reports, compliance assessments, and develop Internal Controls.
- Support planning and development of audit deliverables.
- Engage with regulators, peer utilities, and industry organizations.
- Support ad hoc initiatives for process improvement and development of the Reliability Compliance program.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Graduated between May 2025 and June 2026.
- Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on July 13, 2026.
- Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.
- Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization).
It would be awesome if you had
- Interest in regulatory framework, audit, or policy.
- Participated in a club/organization focused on politics, student government, etc.

Salary Range
- Northboro, MA: $82,000 – $96,000 a year
- Brooklyn, NY: $87,000 – $102,000 a year
- Syracuse, NY: $72,000 – $85,000 a year
Please note US Colleagues must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont. As a National Grid employee, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
