ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER – OPERATIONS | Micro Center

• Team: Leads supervisors and associates; reports to the Store Manager or General Manager.
• Mission: Ensures the efficient, safe, and customer-focused operation of the store by managing inventory, team performance, and operational policies to achieve company goals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operational Oversight: Maintain orderly operation and safety across all areas, ensuring proper execution of operational policies and procedures at the store level.
• Inventory & Freight Management: Conduct physical inventory, manage all freight flow and merchandise processing, including regular cycle counts and tracking company assets.
• Customer Experience Leadership: Lead front-end operations to ensure all customer issues are resolved promptly and in alignment with company policy.
• Team Development & Coaching: Manage staffing, orientation, and training, and provide regular coaching and feedback to supervisors and associates to foster their growth and communicate goals.
• Strategic Leadership: Serve as manager-in-charge during the absence of other managers, lead open and close procedures, execute ad set and visual merchandising standards, and achieve store goals for inventory, customer satisfaction, productivity, and expenses.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager. Education: a college degree is preferred. Core Domain: high-volume big box retail operations, specifically within the consumer electronics industry.
• Experience: Two or more years of experience with a major big box retailer in a high-volume, 30,000+ square-foot store. This includes previous experience in all aspects of retail management such as driving sales, merchandising, operations, freight flow, customer service, and human resources functions like hiring, retaining, and coaching qualified employees.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, inventory control management, capability to execute corporate initiatives, and analytical skills to assess competition.
• Bonus: A college degree is preferred, as is experience in a commissioned sales environment within the consumer electronics industry.
