Assistant Controller | Vanteo
The Tone:
This is a full-time, remote role at Vanteo, requiring occasional travel to the company’s Greenville, South Carolina office. This position is critical to Vanteo’s financial operations, overseeing the company’s day-to-day accounting and serving as a key member of the accounting and finance team. The Assistant Controller will ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of accounting records, the financial close process, and all revenue accounting. This role is instrumental in maintaining U.S. GAAP compliance and providing accurate financial information to support effective business decision-making within a growing and evolving environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Operations: Own and oversee the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, leading the monthly and quarterly close process, and preparing/reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
• Revenue Management: Own the accounting and reporting for all company revenue, with a particular focus on the EB3 business, ensuring accurate recognition in accordance with U.S. GAAP and ASC 606.
• Technical Accounting & GAAP: Research and evaluate accounting issues and transactions to ensure full compliance with U.S. GAAP, maintaining a strong understanding of applicable accounting standards.
• Financial Reporting & Audit: Prepare and review financial reporting schedules, assist with comprehensive financial statements, and serve as a primary contact for external auditors during year-end processes.
• Process Improvement & Leadership: Identify and lead initiatives to improve the efficiency and accuracy of accounting processes, optimize NetSuite, and manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a management or senior accounting role.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience owning a company’s accounting operations and the full monthly close process; strong experience with complex revenue recognition and ASC 606.
• Skills: Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP; ability to analyze and document complex accounting transactions; proven organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Bonus: Active CPA license; MBA or Master’s degree; hands-on experience with NetSuite for accounting processes, reporting, and month-end close.
