Job Description: Analytical Laboratory Technician Intern

Position Overview
This is a 12-month internship position, starting in July 2025 and concluding in Summer 2026. The Analytical Laboratory Technician Intern is primarily responsible for performing routine testing accurately and punctually, adhering strictly to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). During the academic year, the intern is expected to work approximately 10-20 hours per week, transitioning to full-time hours during school breaks and throughout the summer.

Job Responsibilities
The intern will undertake various laboratory functions to support professional staff, including:
• Performing safe, precise, and accurate physical and chemical analysis of capsule samples.
• Working to achieve department and company objectives through various testing methods and procedures.
• Gathering, compiling, and reporting data in spreadsheet format.
• Ensuring timely and accurate testing of products to confirm compliance.
• Utilizing various pieces of laboratory testing instrumentation.
• Communicating test results to appropriate internal customers.
• Following documented procedures and preparing necessary documentation.
• Ordering materials and equipment required for testing.
• Recording information in adherence to department policy.
• Setting up, operating, and maintaining laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Suggesting improvements for efficiency and effectiveness within the lab.

Qualifications – Required
Candidates must meet the following mandatory qualifications:
• Possession of a high school diploma or GED.
• Accepted or currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in a two-year or four-year college or university, actively pursuing a degree in Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or a related field throughout the duration of the internship.
• Prior experience in a lab environment or successful completion of a lab safety course.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Demonstrated detail-oriented approach and strong safety focus.
• Ability to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility and ability to shift priorities of testing needs as required.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Word.
