Investment & Corporate Banking – Financial Sponsors & Strategic Solutions Group (FS&SSG) – Analyst | Mizuho
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Mizuho. Mizuho’s Banking Division provides corporate and investment banking coverage, sponsor coverage, advisory, solutions, and loan capital markets/syndicate services to leading international corporations, financial institutions, and public sector entities in the US and Canada. The division supports client business activities with an extensive range of capital markets and lending capabilities, leveraging an integrated team for relationship management and strategic transaction development to execute mandates and originate new ideas. This Analyst role is a fundamental team position within a core group, interacting with a wide variety of bank and securities products globally, driving strategic transaction execution and idea generation for potential acquisitions, divestitures, and investment opportunities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Execution: Lead the execution of leveraged finance transactions and bespoke strategic solutions for Sponsor clients.
• Financial Modeling & Valuation: Construct and analyze detailed financial models, performing financial valuation, discounted cash flow, and multiples-based analyses.
• Due Diligence & Credit Analysis: Manage key aspects of business and financial due diligence and credit underwriting processes, including fundamental credit analyses and research.
• Deal Structuring & M&A Support: Assist in financing structuring, underwriting transaction evaluation, due diligence, and execution, as well as running sell-side processes and assessing M&A transactions.
• Client Solutions & Research: Work closely with product specialists to deliver tailored solutions across the full product suite, liaise with product and sector teams in preparing presentation materials and participating in deals and pitches, and conduct industry and product research.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor Degree in Finance or Economics; ideal candidates will have fundamental credit-focused training (leveraged, distressed, or structured finance) or Mergers & Acquisitions experience.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of investment banking experience with a top-tier global bank.
• Skills: Strong quantitative, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to convey ideas; advanced proficiency with CapitalIQ, Bloomberg, and Microsoft Office; Series 79 & 63 licenses; ability to work independently, effectively in a team environment, under pressure, adhere to tight deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Bonus: Prior credit training, structured credit, and/or leveraged finance experience preferred; M&A experience is a plus.
