Administrative Leader Fellowship | Mercy Hospital St. Louis Critical Care Medicine Fellowship
The Tone:
This is a full-time, salaried fellowship program available across various Mercy locations. Mercy is a healthcare system dedicated to bringing to life a healing ministry through compassionate care and exceptional service. This fellowship offers an immersive, hands-on experience for recent master’s-level graduates, designed to accelerate their advancement into future leadership roles. Through this program, individuals will shape the future of healthcare delivery by engaging in strategic initiatives and gaining executive-level insights.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Full-time, salaried
• Location: Multiple Mercy locations (e.g., Northwest Arkansas, Oklahoma City, Springfield, St. Louis, Washington, MO, Cape Girardeau, MO)
• Mission: To develop future healthcare administrators and executives who will lead high-impact projects and system-wide initiatives within a mission-driven organization.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead key assignments to develop fundamental and leadership skills during your first year.
• Engage in high-impact projects and strategic initiatives across Mercy’s healthcare system.
• Gain hands-on experience in decision-making processes and organizational leadership.
• Receive mentorship from senior leaders across various departments.
• Obtain focused exposure to key administrative areas such as Hospital/Clinic Operations, Strategy, Finance, Human Resources, and Innovation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Recent graduate of a master’s degree (MHA, MBA, MPH, MSN or other related field) with an aspiration to become a future healthcare administrator or executive.
• Experience: Demonstrated leadership potential, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills. Prior experience in healthcare, consulting, project management, or administrative internships is highly valued.
• Skills: Strategic thinking, strong communication skills, organizational leadership, and problem-solving through decision-making processes.
