This position is vital for the meticulous preparation of financial statements, reconciliation of accounts, and detailed analysis, all contributing directly to the financial integrity and operational transparency of the organization. • Mission: This individual will be responsible for ensuring the precision and compliance of financial records, participating actively in the full financial reporting cycle from journal entries to detailed analyses and daily treasury functions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Actively participate in the comprehensive process of preparing monthly financial statements, which includes detailed general ledger account reconciliations and the creation of accurate journal entries. This also involves diligently maintaining all financial records to ensure they are complete, accurate, and in strict compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Revenue Management: Take an active role in the critical process of revenue recognition, ensuring that all revenue streams are accounted for accurately and align with established accounting principles and company policies.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Proactively review financial data to identify, thoroughly investigate, and effectively resolve any accounting discrepancies or irregularities that may arise, ensuring the integrity and reliability of financial information.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct essential monthly, quarterly, and annual flux analyses, with a specific focus on understanding and reporting on variances related to water revenues and associated costs, providing crucial insights into performance.
• Treasury Reporting: Prepare daily reports pertaining to Treasury activities, ensuring timely and precise communication of cash positions and related financial movements to relevant stakeholders.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role is suitable for an early career accounting professional with a solid foundational understanding of core accounting principles and practices, specifically including proficiency in GAAP compliance and the intricacies of revenue recognition.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience or a strong capacity to participate in the preparation of monthly financial statements, manage general ledger accounts, and execute financial reconciliation processes is essential.
• Skills: Key skills required include a strong ability in financial statement preparation, general ledger reconciliation, creation of journal entries, adeptness at identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies, performing flux analyses, and preparing Treasury reports.
