• Mission: To lead and manage the business and operational activities of the Outpatient Oncology department, establishing goals, ensuring regulatory compliance, and aligning with the Mount Sinai Health System’s strategic objectives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic & Policy Leadership: Provide administrative direction for the formulation, interpretation, and administration of current and long-range policies, procedures, and programs across the department, medical care unit, or division.
• Goal Setting & Planning: Establish department goals and objectives that are consistent with Mount Sinai Health System policies and all federal, state, and local regulations, collaborating with the division head or chairman to develop short-term and long-range plans.
• Financial Oversight & Budgeting: Plan and manage budget needs by analyzing short and long-term program plans, collaborating with the Chief Financial Officer to assure the completion of the annual budget and subsequent monitoring of the department’s financial status.
• Human Resources Management: Interpret and administer policies regarding hiring, payroll, appointments, promotions, placement, and orientation for all faculty and staff, including reviewing and approving reclassifications, new positions, and salary increases, and directing the performance appraisal system.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Assure compliance with regulatory, insurance, and ethical standards concerning the safety of patients, employees, and property, implement quality assurance programs, and oversee monitoring activities to meet standards of accrediting agencies such as JCAHO and CARF.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Director-level professional with leadership experience and education in healthcare administration or health science.
• Experience: 7+ years in health care finance or administration, including experience in strategic planning and execution, formulating policy, building and developing financial plans, managing resources, and leading successful teams.
• Skills: Strategic Planning, Financial Management, Regulatory Compliance Oversight, Policy Administration, Team Leadership.
• Bonus: Master’s degree in healthcare administration or health science.
