Administrative Assistant | Alzheimer’s Association Arizona

The Tone:
This is a full-time Administrative Assistant position based in Omaha, NE or Sioux Falls, SD, offering essential support across the Alzheimer’s Association’s Nebraska and South Dakota Chapters. The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support, and research, dedicated to ending Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. This role is crucial for enabling the Chapter’s mission by providing comprehensive administrative support to the leadership team, program directors, public policy directors, and development team, as well as managing chapter volunteers and events. The work directly contributes to accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support for those impacted by Alzheimer’s.

• Mission: Provide essential administrative and logistical support to ensure smooth chapter operations, effective program delivery, and successful fundraising efforts.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Development Support: Provide comprehensive administrative and logistical support to the Development Team for various fundraising events, including the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
• Program and Volunteer Coordination: Assist Program Directors in supporting Chapter volunteers, managing volunteer databases, and coordinating volunteer screening, training calendars, and documentation.
• Financial and Reporting Assistance: Support the Development team by tracking sponsorship contributions and fulfillment needs, processing payment requests and invoices, and compiling data for various reports.
• Executive and Communications Support: Assist the Chapter’s Leadership Team with administrative needs across departments, coordinate Board of Directors meeting arrangements, and help organize information for email outreach.
• Office Management: Manage front office operations by answering phones, assisting walk-in constituents, and providing training and guidance to front office volunteers on various projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Experience: Two or more years of experience as an administrative assistant, office manager, or a similar role is essential.
• Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain detailed records, effective communication (in person, in writing, and electronically), and the capability to analyze information for timely decision-making.
• Bonus: A positive attitude and willingness to help, ability to work effectively with volunteers, staff, external contacts and diverse populations, self-sufficiency with strong initiative and intuition, ability to master CRM and other applications as necessary, physical ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds, and capability for occasional travel by car with a valid driver’s license, good driving record, reliable vehicle, and proof of automobile insurance.
