Activity Director | ALIYA Healthcare Consulting

This is a key leadership position at ALIYA Healthcare Consulting. As an Activity Director, you will be instrumental in leading the planning and execution of engaging programs designed to significantly enhance the quality of life for our residents. This role is central to creating a consistently positive and energetic environment, enabling residents to thrive socially, mentally, and physically within our facilities.
The TL;DR

• Mission: To create and manage comprehensive, engaging activity programs that foster social, mental, and physical well-being for residents, thereby significantly enhancing their overall quality of life.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Leadership: Plan, organize, and directly oversee a diverse range of individual and group activities specifically designed for residents.
• Calendar Development: Develop, curate, and meticulously manage both monthly and weekly activity calendars, ensuring they are thoughtfully based on resident interests and evolving needs.
• Team Supervision: Lead and supervise the activity staff, including aides and volunteers, ensuring consistent resident engagement and participation in all programs.
• Event Coordination: Skillfully coordinate and execute special events, community outings, and significant holiday programs to enrich the resident experience.
• Operational Oversight: Maintain accurate documentation, attendance records, and resident assessments, while also managing department supplies, budget, inventory, and ensuring all activity programs comply with state and federal regulations within organized, safe, and engaging spaces.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a Certified Activity Director credential and a high school diploma.
• Experience: Possesses previous experience leading activities within a healthcare or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting, demonstrating a practical understanding of resident engagement.
• Skills: Exhibits strong leadership, communication, and organizational capabilities, coupled with a proven ability to develop and lead engaging resident programs with a compassionate, energetic, and resident-focused approach.
• Bonus: A degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field is considered a significant asset for this role.
