• Team: Oversees programming in Memory Care, working with families and clinical staff.
• Mission: Plan, organize, and implement activity and leisure programs to meet the diverse needs of memory care residents and ensure resident and family satisfaction.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Plan: Plan programs of activity and leisure pursuits designed for memory care residents.
• Organize: Organize comprehensive activity and leisure pursuits for memory care residents.
• Implement: Implement a program of activity and leisure pursuits for memory care residents.
• Meet Needs: Design programs to meet the social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational, and physical needs and interests of residents in accordance with their comprehensive care plan.
• Oversee & Collaborate: Oversee programming in Memory Care and work collaboratively with families and clinical staff to ensure resident and family satisfaction.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or a related area, requiring national or state licensure or registration, for a Director-level position focused on activities.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience as an Activities Director in a long-term care, skilled nursing facility, assisted living, or memory care setting. Additionally, two years of experience conducting social and recreational programs within the past five years, including one full-time year in a resident activities program in a health care setting.
• Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, a professional image in both appearance and behavior, a flexible, fun, and energetic personality, and a dedication for working with seniors.
• Bonus: Accreditation as a Certified Activities Director is preferred, along with prior experience working with cognitively impaired seniors and managing related behaviors.
