Accounts Payable Clerk | Maverik, Inc.
The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at Maverik, Inc., located at their Salt Lake City Headquarters. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will ensure vendor payments are processed accurately and on time, safeguard compliance, and help maintain the integrity of financial records. This position directly impacts Maverik’s financial accuracy, vendor relationships, and compliance standards through correct payment processing, complete documentation, and met reporting requirements.

• Mission: Ensure accurate and timely vendor payments, safeguard compliance, and maintain the integrity of financial records.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Payment Processing: Ensure accurate payment processing, including verifying Federal ID numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, and ensuring credit for outstanding memos.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Resolve purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payment discrepancies and documentation, including issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
• Documentation Verification: Ensure proper supporting documentation, such as purchase orders, approved and reconciled invoices/vendor statements, exists for all payments.
• Expense Report Auditing: Verify and audit expense reports to ensure compliance with the Travel & Entertainment policy.
• 1099 Reporting Assistance: Assist with the compliance and preparation of 1099 reporting.
The Must-Haves
• Background: 1+ years of relevant experience in accounts payable functions.
• Experience: Knowledge of accounts payable functions, with experience using multiple systems.
• Skills: MS Office proficiency, including strong Excel skills.
• Bonus: Associate’s degree in a relevant field.
