Accounts Payable Associate | Bridge Specialty Group

The Tone:

This Accounts Payable Associate position is crucial for ensuring accurate and timely accounting duties, verifying accounts, and maintaining strong financial relationships with over 200 carriers, directly contributing to the company’s operational efficiency and its commitment to customer service.

• Mission: This person will ensure timely and accurate execution of accounting duties, focusing on carrier payables, reconciliations, and issue resolution, thereby supporting the financial integrity of operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile Account Current, Bordereaux, and/or Item Basis reports, ensuring accuracy, and manage associated carrier payables efficiently.
• Premium Management: Provide support to underwriting teams by assisting with premium corrections and resolving various day-to-day accounting issues.
• Tax Processing: Aid in the reconciliation and accurate clearing of Surplus Lines Tax payments across various states.
• Carrier Communication: Engage with carriers to resolve balance discrepancies, ensure timely collection of return premium funds, and record all transactions appropriately.
• Check Resolution & Support: Review and resolve outstanding checks aged 90 days or greater, and contribute to team flexibility by cross-training in other accounting functions to cover absences.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: Requires one to three months of prior related job experience and/or training, demonstrating foundational knowledge in accounting support or administrative roles.
• Skills: Proficiency with MS Office applications, exceptional telephone demeanor for professional communication, and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
