Accounting Intern | Trinity Capital
The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Trinity Capital, located in Phoenix, Arizona. Trinity Capital Inc. is an international alternative asset manager that delivers consistent returns for investors through access to private credit markets. This role offers hands-on experience within the world-class Finance Department, focusing on Financial Accounting & Reporting while gaining exposure to Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Investment Valuation. The Accounting Intern will develop a broad understanding of corporate accounting, treasury, and reporting operations, as well as gain experience within ERP systems and financial reporting tools.

• Mission: Support day-to-day accounting and reporting functions, ensuring compliance and accurate financial statements while gaining practical experience in corporate finance operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Support: Assist in day-to-day accounting activities and loan servicing operations.
• Financial Closing: Help with monthly and quarterly closing procedures, GAAP financial statement preparation, and supporting documentation.
• Reconciliation & Analysis: Perform account reconciliations and conduct variance analyses.
• Compliance: Contribute to ensuring Accounts Payable (AP) activities comply with internal controls and SOX requirements.
• Cross-Functional Projects: Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Valuations, and Treasury teams on various projects.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Upperclassman pursuing an Accounting Major.
• Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of financial statement production, including balance sheet, income statement, and general ledger. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Skills: Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of performing under pressure.
• Bonus: Completion of Intermediate Accounting or equivalent is preferred, along with an overall GPA of 3.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale).
