Accounting Intern – Harrisburg, PA (Spring 2027) | Myers & Stauffer

The Tone:
This is an internship at Myers & Stauffer, located in Harrisburg, PA. Myers & Stauffer is a certified public accounting and health and human services consulting firm, comprised of over 900 associates nationwide, specializing in audit, accounting, data management, and consulting services for government-sponsored health care programs. This role matters by directly supporting the firm’s mission to assist state Medicaid agencies and the federal Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services with complex healthcare reimbursement and provider compliance issues, ultimately serving those in need. The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Execution: Perform all aspects of project work and apply acquired knowledge to future assignments.
• Information Retrieval: Respond to all inquiries and requests from supervisors and clients.
• Goal Achievement: Strive to meet specific goals established by direct supervisors.
• Service Comprehension: Develop a general understanding of Myers & Stauffer’s range of services.
• Software Proficiency: Gain proficiency in administrative programs, spreadsheets, word processing, and internet research tools.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Experience: Active participation in student organizations and prior work experience is preferred.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, effective verbal and written communication, well-organized with accuracy and attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Bonus: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 is preferred, along with professional appearance and manner, a positive attitude, and punctuality. This position could lead to a direct hire in a full-time role after graduation.
