Accounting Assistant | Connect Search, LLC
The Tone:
This is an Accounting Assistant role at Connect Search, LLC. The company is focused on maintaining financial records for a diverse client base, including multiple entities, trusts, and individuals. This position is vital for ensuring accurate processing of business transactions and assisting with both internal and external reporting requirements. The Accounting Assistant plays a direct role in the integrity of financial data, supporting the overall financial operations.

• Mission: To accurately process business transactions, maintain comprehensive financial records, and support reporting for various entities, trusts, and individuals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Transaction Recording: Record all transactional activity, including cash receipts and the payments/disbursements of cash and securities, across multiple entities, trusts, and individuals.
• Accounts Payable Management: Manage the full accounts payable process, ensuring payments have proper approval and documentation, verifying remittance information, and tracking outstanding invoices and balances.
• Financial Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and proper accounting records and supporting documentation for various accounts, including cash, fixed assets, and accruals.
• Reporting and Analysis: Prepare standard financial reports on a quarterly basis, assist in overall financial analysis, and compile periodic investment and financial reporting for reasonableness review.
• Compliance and Documentation: Assist in the compilation and filing of 1099s and other necessary tax reporting, and ensure all relevant documentation, such as statements, receipts, and valuations, is properly received, named, and filed.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or significant practical experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and accounts payable.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and accounts payable is required if a bachelor’s degree is not held. Experience with accounting software, including Sage Intacct, is a plus.
• Skills: Competency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills considered a beneficial asset.
• Bonus: Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multitask effectively and adapt focus quickly. Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and the capacity to collaborate across departments as a supportive team player.
