This is a full-time hybrid role at Boys & Girls Clubs of America, located in Atlanta, GA. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial records, proper stewardship of Alliance assets, and transparent financial reporting for State Alliances, enabling them to effectively serve their communities. Your work directly contributes to strengthening local Clubs and expanding opportunities for young people across the country.

• Mission: This role provides essential accounting support for State Alliances, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance to enable their youth development work.
• Tech Stack: Computerized accounting systems, Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Cash Management: Record cash receipts and deposits in the accounting system, ensuring accurate coding and retaining appropriate supporting documentation.
• Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements to general ledger cash accounts on a weekly and monthly basis, investigating and resolving all outstanding items and discrepancies.
• Journal Entries: Prepare and post routine and month-end journal entries, including cash activity, transfers, accruals, and reclasses, supported by proper documentation and review.
• Financial Review: Review general ledger balance-sheet and income-statement accounts for accuracy, appropriate coding, completeness, and proper period recognition.
• Reporting Support: Prepare recurring financial reports, account analyses, budget-to-actual information, and supporting schedules for Alliance leadership and internal accounting management.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: One to three years of accounting experience, including general ledger activity, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Skills: Applies GAAP and fund-accounting concepts, understanding of grant requirements and internal controls, proficiency with computerized accounting systems, and intermediate Excel skills.
• Bonus: Nonprofit, fund-accounting, grant-accounting, multi-entity, or fiscal-agent experience.
