The Tone:
This is a full-time Accountant role at Mazzone, a member of Compass Group USA, located in Clifton Park, NY. Mazzone Hospitality originated over 30 years ago and has grown into a leading hospitality company in upstate New York, operating 18 different locations with over 1,000 employees. This role is essential for maintaining the financial accuracy and integrity of various corporate accounts through precise reconciliation and problem resolution. The Accountant will play a key part in supporting financial operations and ensuring reliable financial reporting.

• Mission: Owns the accurate and timely reconciliation of corporate financial accounts, resolving discrepancies and booking corrective entries.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reconciliation: Responsible for the accurate and timely reconciliation of Compass Depository Accounts, Corporate Insurance Accounts, and Corporate Investment Accounts.
• Error Resolution: Works with various bank and armored carriers to research and resolve errors and discrepancies.
• Ledger Resolution: Collaborates with Regional Controllers and Accountants to research and resolve ledger discrepancies.
• Journal Entries: Books maintenance and corrective journal entries.
• Liaison: Acts as liaison between Field (Operations and Accounting), bank, and third-party banking vendors.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: Two years of Accounting Experience.
• Skills: Proficient knowledge of MS Excel, ability to effectively communicate with all levels of associates, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, detail-oriented team player with initiative.
• Bonus: Working knowledge of SAP financial and/or Access, previous Account Reconciliation software experience.
