2027 Tax/Audit Internship Application – Portland | Aprio

The Tone:
This is a 2027 internship at Aprio, a Top 20 CPA and advisory firm, located in Portland, OR. Aprio operates with over 3,200 team members across 40 U.S. and international offices, committed to accounting for anything clients may need. This role is crucial for high-potential accounting students eager to gain real-world experience, dive into hands-on accounting projects, and continue Aprio’s standard of excellence. Interns will develop a solid general foundation while contributing to diverse client engagements in either tax or audit.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Seasonal (Spring 2027: January – April; Summer 2027: June – August)
• Location: In-person Portland, OR
• Pay: $33 hourly
• Mission: Provide high-potential accounting students with on-the-job training and real-world experiences in tax or audit services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deliver tax services, including planning, consulting, and compliance, for diverse clients in various industries.
• Work with businesses and industry leaders to mitigate financial and business risks, improving financial reporting and internal controls.
• Collaborate closely with clients and partners on innovative tax planning strategies or to evaluate complex accounting issues.
• Assess the quality of information clients use for strategic decisions and identify areas to improve operating efficiencies.
• Participate in a group project focused on volunteering and social impact, alongside networking events with team members and partners.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Accounting Major with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Entry-Level.
• Experience: Understanding and applying Excel skills.
• Skills: Exceptional verbal communication, exceptional written communication, working effectively and personably with clients, working effectively and personably with co-workers.
