Finance Intern | Masco Corporation

This Finance Rotational Internship provides undergraduate and graduate students with a unique opportunity to gain experience across four critical corporate functions: Tax, Internal Audit, Financial Reporting, and Internal Controls. Over a four-month period, participants complete structured rotations that demonstrate how financial transactions are recorded, controlled, reviewed, and reported. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals on meaningful business projects while developing essential technical, analytical, and professional skills.

• Mission: To equip students with practical exposure to corporate accounting and financial reporting, tax accounting versus financial accounting, internal control frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, audit procedures and testing, and business process improvement techniques. This program demonstrates how financial transactions are recorded, controlled, reviewed, and reported.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax: Assist with diverse tax compliance and reporting projects, support tax provision and tax accounting activities, actively participate in process improvement and tax technology initiatives, and prepare thorough documentation and research on technical tax issues.
• Internal Audit: Support audit planning and execution activities, conduct comprehensive financial statement analysis, perform data analysis and testing procedures, meticulously document audit observations and findings, and participate in critical interviews and process walkthroughs.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare essential work papers that meticulously support journal entries, disclosures, and financial statement balances; perform detailed variance analysis to research fluctuations in financial results; participate in accounting research and special projects; and help identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes through automation and artificial intelligence tools.
• Internal Controls: Assist with the meticulous documentation of business processes and controls, actively participate in control testing and monitoring efforts, help identify practical process improvement opportunities, and maintain accurate control and risk documentation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline. This program is ideal for students interested in accounting, finance, audit, risk management, governance, and taxation.
• Experience: No specific years of prior experience are required. Demonstrated leadership through academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, or prior work experiences is highly valued.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications are essential.
• Bonus: A high degree of curiosity and a genuine willingness to learn across multiple financial and corporate disciplines will contribute significantly to an intern’s success in this rotational program.
