• Mission: This intern will support core accounting functions and special projects to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency within the company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist with comprehensive monthly accounting close procedures, which includes preparing journal entries, conducting reconciliations, and performing as-needed financial analysis.
• Support the preparation of crucial SEC filings, specifically contributing to the company’s second quarter 10-Q report, along with managing the disclosure checklist and ensuring financial statement tie-out accuracy.
• Identify and research process improvement areas within accounting operations, report on the impact of automation efforts, help develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for automation initiatives, and research potential third-party software solutions for enhanced automation.
• Test new automation tools thoroughly, document detailed workflows for improved clarity, and provide constructive feedback on the overall effectiveness of these automation solutions.
• Assist with internal audits, meticulously document control procedures, and ensure strict compliance with all relevant regulations and internal company policies.
• Support various special accounting projects (e.g., those related to revenue recognition, expense management, and financial reporting) to gain a broad and practical understanding of the accounting environment within the company.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level role for Juniors working towards a Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Accounting or a related field.
• Experience: Proven ability to think creatively and implement ideas from start to finish.
• Skills: Intermediate Excel proficiency, strong written and verbal communication, maturing analytical skills, and attention to detail.
