Ultium Cells, LLC. is a joint venture between LG Energy Solution, Ltd., and General Motors, focused on manufacturing lithium-ion automotive battery cells. This new, state-of-the-art facility represents a $2.3 billion investment and will be among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants globally. It will produce battery cells for General Motors’ North American electric vehicles. The partnership leverages LG Energy Solution’s expertise as the world’s largest automotive battery cell manufacturer and General Motors’ commitment to sustainable transportation.
