About Company

The Children’s Place, founded in 1969 in Hartford, Connecticut, by David Pulver and Clinton Clark, initially sold toys, apparel, and accessories. By the early 1980s, it repositioned itself as a specialty retailer of children’s apparel for newborns to pre-teens, offering both private label and branded merchandise. In 2019, the company acquired the rights to the Gymboree brand, launching its products in select stores and online in early 2020. Later, in late 2021, they introduced the Sugar & Jade brand, focusing on tween girls’ fashion, and in late 2022, launched the PJ Place brand, a one-stop shop for pajamas for all ages, including adults. The company’s four brands cater to diverse families, offering apparel designed to build confidence and promote inclusivity.
