Job Description (Detailed)

This role focuses on contributing to Gale’s mission within Cengage Group, particularly engaging with its digital humanities tool, the Gale Digital Scholar Lab, and promoting Gale’s resources.

What You’ll Do Here:

Research Project: You will conduct a research project using the Gale Digital Scholar Lab. This project will be submitted to the Gale Research Showcase, where it will undergo a peer-review process and serve as an exemplary assignment to inspire future users of the lab.
Content Development: You will be responsible for developing engaging content. This content will highlight the rich and fascinating information found within Gale’s archives and will be featured on Gale’s blog and various social media channels.
Event Coordination: You will coordinate and facilitate an on-campus event. The purpose of this event is to educate students and faculty about the valuable resources that Gale provides.
Skill Development & Networking: You will attend weekly virtual “lunch and learn” sessions. These sessions are designed to help you acquire new skills relevant to your internship activities and provide opportunities to network with professionals from different departments within the organization.
Performance Feedback: You will participate in regular virtual check-ins. These sessions are for receiving formal feedback on your performance and progress throughout the internship.

Skills You Will Need Here:

Academic Background: You must currently be majoring in an Arts & Humanities or Social Science subject area.
Personal Qualities: Possess creativity, leadership qualities, strong time management skills, and a genuine passion for history and the humanities.
Gale Resource Experience: Prior experience using Gale resources is a plus, indicating familiarity with their tools, but it is not a mandatory requirement as comprehensive training will be provided.

Compensation:

The full base pay range for this position is $15.00 – $16.00 USD. Individual base pay will vary based on factors such as work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.
