About the Company and Job Description

The Riverside County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office is offering an unpaid internship program. This internship provides hands-on experience in agricultural regulation, environmental protection, and consumer affairs within Riverside County’s diverse agricultural industry. Interns will gain exposure to careers in agriculture, environmental science, entomology, and public administration.

Internship Components:

Office Operations: Data entry, record-keeping, permit documentation, and pesticide use reporting.
Agricultural Fieldwork: Ride-alongs with licensed Agricultural and Standards Investigators, assist with pest detection programs and inspections.
Weights and Measures Fieldwork: Accompany investigators during inspections of commercial devices (e.g. fuel dispensers, retail scales, etc.); observing procedures for package accuracy, labeling compliance, and scanner price verification.

Essential Duties:

Under supervision, assists and participates in the work performed by employees of a specific profession; Through participation, receives supervised work experience in a specific professional vocation, and performs other related duties as required.
