This posting is for the Corporate Risk Development Program – Commercial Workout, a ten-week rotational internship within Corporate Risk, Wells Fargo’s second line of defense. Corporate Risk provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities and manages risk according to the Risk Management Framework.

Program Overview:

• The internship highlights each business within Commercial Workout.
• Involves active portfolio management of distressed credit, including customer interaction and valuation projects.
• Includes relationship building, relevant work assignments, coaching, performance feedback, group projects, and learning sessions with leaders.
• Pipeline program for full-time 2-year rotational Corporate Risk Development Program roles.

Workout Businesses:

Credit Resolution Group (CRG): Manages troubled customer relationships across Corporate, Commercial, and Wealth Management.
Real Estate Managed Asset Group (REMAG): Manages distressed real estate loans through resolution.
Business Risk Management: Manages Wholesale Workout operational risk, partners with compliance, and monitors Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA).

Program Placement Track: Credit Risk | Workout

In This Role, You Will:

• Participate in professional development activities.
• Research risk problems, determine root causes, analyze outcomes, and recommend solutions.
• Review assignments to understand policies and procedures.
• Receive direction from managers, relationship managers, and associates.
• Convey creative solutions to complex analytical problems using data storytelling.
• Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and managers to achieve goals.
• Demonstrate personal accountability.

Responsibilities may include:

• Supporting projects and initiatives with moderate risk.
• Building relationships with colleagues at all levels.
• Demonstrating strong organizational skills and meeting deadlines.
• Providing strategic support to risk teams.
• Facilitating effectively in face-to-face and virtual environments.

Program Details:

Dates: June – August 2026
Duration: 10 weeks
Location: Charlotte, NC

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ months of work experience (or equivalent combination of experience, training, education).

Desired Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation date between December 2026 – June 2027 in the fields of IT, STEM, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Accounting and/or Analytics
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
• Involvement in extracurricular activities.
• Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively.
• Energetic self-starter with a genuine interest in learning and growth.
• Knowledge, interest, or experience in manipulating data using PowerBI, SAS, SQL, and/or Python, compliance, operational risk, and/or experience in the financial services industry.

Work Authorization:

• Wells Fargo will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Wells Fargo now or in the future to retain their authorization to work in the United States. This program is the primary pipeline for our full-time entry level roles. All interns must be able to present current, permanent work authorization to be eligible for the program.
