Job Description: Finance & Accounting Intern
The Memphis Grizzlies seek a full-time Finance & Accounting Intern for a summer internship commencing May 12, 2025, and ending August 29, 2025. This internship is open to currently enrolled students pursuing a four-year accounting degree. The intern will assist the Assistant Controller in the daily operations of the Finance Department. The role involves a mix of independent work and team collaboration.
Responsibilities:
• Accounts Payable: Upload and distribute invoices in the digital accounts payable system accurately and timely.
• Accounts Receivable: Support the accounts receivable team (specific duties not detailed).
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare basic Balance Sheet reconciliations; gather data for various financial analyses; document and maintain supporting information for all financial transactions using Great Plains and/or Microsoft Excel.
• Internal Controls: Assist in ensuring the effectiveness of the organization’s internal control environment.
• General Accounting Support: Perform general clerical duties to assist the accounting teams.
• Other Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Enrolled accounting major in a four-year college or university.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to create Excel spreadsheets and perform analysis.
• Ability to work full-time in person (May 12, 2025 – August 29, 2025).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous office work experience.
• Knowledge of accounting systems, preferably Microsoft Great Plains.
