Master Thesis: AI-Assisted Identification of Critical Data Elements | Ericsson
The Tone:
This is a Master’s thesis project at Ericsson, located in either Linköping or Stockholm, Sweden. This project aims to address the challenge of identifying Critical Data Elements (CDEs), which are vital for effective business decision-making but often require extensive manual effort. By exploring agentic AI capabilities within Snowflake CoWork, this role will contribute to developing scalable solutions for data quality and governance in large organizations. Your work will directly support the enhancement of data integrity and decision-making processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Review and synthesize literature on data governance, data quality, Critical Data Elements, and agentic AI.
• Explore Technology: Investigate how Snowflake CoWork’s agentic AI capabilities can support the identification of business-critical data.
• Evaluate AI: Assess the accuracy, strengths, and limitations of AI-generated recommendations using selected datasets and business scenarios.
• Compare Practices: Benchmark AI results against expert assessments and existing enterprise data governance practices.
• Develop Recommendations: Formulate practical recommendations for integrating AI-assisted CDE identification into enterprise data governance processes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Master’s student in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Information Management, or a related field.
• Experience: Knowledge of databases, data modelling, business intelligence, or information management is required.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a keen interest in Data & AI, data governance, and enterprise analytics.
• Bonus: Curiosity about Generative AI and agentic AI technologies; experience with SQL, Python, Snowflake, or cloud data platforms; ability to work independently and collaborate with stakeholders.
