Business Solutions Associate | Scotiabank
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Scotiabank, located in Bogota, Colombia. Scotiabank, through its ScotiaTech hub, is committed to supporting various technology systems and processes for the bank. This role is crucial for delivering assigned initiatives in line with GBME’s business strategies and objectives, specifically by supporting data governance for a major aggregator of Credit Risk data and acting as the primary contact for client incidents and service requests.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Support: Deliver customer-focused support for internal Capital Markets products and services.
• Incident Resolution: Analyze and resolve incidents and service requests, providing ad hoc SQL data queries and reports.
• Process Improvement: Recommend improvements to processes, systems, procedures, and controls based on business needs.
• System Testing: Plan, coordinate, execute, and document system testing from feasibility through implementation, including integration and user acceptance testing.
• Workload Management: Manage problem logs, emergency change requests, work orders, intake requests, and system changes using various tools.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Three to five years of financial services experience, preferably in Capital Markets, Risk, or operations support. Knowledge of Capital Markets products and experience investigating related data issues.
• Skills: Exposure to SQL, Oracle, Unix file systems, and XML. Proficiency with Excel. Working knowledge of testing methods, including unit, integration, functional, regression, black-box, or white-box testing. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, relationship-management, and conflict-resolution skills. Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Bonus: Scripting knowledge. Experience with scheduling and ticketing tools such as Tidal, ServiceNow, SharePoint, JIRA, and Confluence.
