Accounting Intern (Summer 2027) | Clēnera

The Tone:
This is an internship at Clēnera, located in Boise, Idaho, within a tier-one developer and independent power producer. Clēnera is the U.S. subsidiary of Enlight Renewable Energy and specializes in developing, financing, constructing, owning, and operating utility-scale solar and energy storage facilities across the United States. This role offers undergraduates an opportunity to immerse themselves in the complex world of renewable energy, providing meaningful experience by assisting with essential financial tasks in a rapidly growing organization. The intern will contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and reports, working alongside senior accounting professionals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transactions: Review and support the preparation of various financial transactions for completeness, accuracy, and conformity with accounting policies and standards.
• Closing: Review and support the preparation of journal entries, complete balance sheet reconciliations, and contribute to other month-end closing activities.
• Reporting: Prepare financial reports and maintain records pertaining to assets, liabilities, profit and loss, or tax liability.
• Statements: Prepare consolidated financial statements for financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies.
• Analysis: Analyze contracts for specific accounting requirements and ensure that accounting entries and reports align with applicable contractual terms.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate or graduate student, preferably entering their final year, pursuing a degree in accounting. Possesses a basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Experience: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn company-specific software programs and tools. Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
• Skills: Developing basic analytical skills, capable of identifying discrepancies under supervision and resolving routine issues. Exhibits effective verbal and written communication skills and is self-motivated with a high level of detail and organization.
