Communications Associate G6 | World Food Programme
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at the World Food Programme, located in Amman, Jordan. The World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, focused on saving lives in emergencies and building pathways to peace and stability through food assistance. This role is critical for delivering specialized communications activities, content, and services that maintain and enhance WFP’s visibility and reputation, promote donor recognition, and support fundraising efforts.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Communications Planning: Contribute to the implementation of country-specific communication work plans to enhance WFP’s visibility and reputation.
• Content Creation: Prepare content for use on traditional and social media platforms, networks, and printed materials, ensuring consistency with corporate messages.
• Event Coordination: Organise and execute special events, working closely with colleagues, external partners, and media, to ensure effective scheduling and publicity.
• Media Engagement: Serve as an information focal point, supporting and coordinating media coverage of events to optimize publicity of WFP’s activities.
• Information Management: Manage updates and further develop internal records and databases, ensuring information is accurate, organised, and accessible.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Completion of secondary school education, with a desirable post-secondary certificate in a related functional area. Demonstrated sound understanding of WFP communication techniques and awareness of the socio-political context.
• Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience, including at least 5 years directly in the field of communications.
• Skills: Fluency in oral and written Arabic and English. Sound understanding of WFP communication techniques and awareness of the socio-political context.
• Bonus: Desired knowledge of graphic design and content creation tools, such as Canva and Adobe Illustrator.
