Part-time Tax Analyst | Nomura

The Tone:
This is a part-time role at Nomura, located in New York, NY. Nomura is a financial services group with an integrated global network, comprised of some 28,000 people worldwide. The company connects markets globally, servicing the needs of individuals, institutions, corporates, and governments across its Wealth Management, Investment Management, Wholesale (Global Markets and Investment Banking), and Banking divisions. This role supports the Corporate Income Tax department by handling essential administrative and tax-related tasks, contributing to the efficient and organized operation of tax compliance and financial reporting functions within the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Documents: Scan, copy, and organize various tax-related files and records.
• Support Operations: Handle mailing duties and assist with diverse ad hoc projects.
• Track Notices: Reconcile and diligently track federal and state tax notices received.
• Process Entries: Prepare necessary journal entries and other tax forms/workpapers.

The Must-Haves
• Background: College graduate with a major in accounting or tax. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required beyond being a college graduate in accounting/tax.
• Skills: Proficient in using Excel, Word, and Adobe for various tasks; excellent interpersonal skills for team collaboration; ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and proactively manage work quality; effective verbal and written communication; ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team.
• Bonus: Motivated and diligent learner who can adapt to varying workloads.
