The Tone:
This is a full-time Staff Accountant role at Internet Brands, headquartered in El Segundo, CA. What You’ll Actually Do
• Closing and Reporting: Assist in all phases of the monthly and annual financial closing and reporting processes, including the preparation of accurate journal entries.
• General Ledger Management: Prepare detailed analysis and comprehensive reconciliations for various general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Financial Schedules: Maintain and manage appropriate recurring and reversing journal entries, accruals, and prepaid schedules as necessary for consistent financial recording.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of variances observed in income statements and balance sheet accounts, identifying root causes and trends to support financial review.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a primary liaison between operational teams, general accounting, payroll, and FP&A departments, answering questions and providing essential accounting guidance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in accounting, finance, or economics is required.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of progressive accounting experience is preferred, demonstrating foundational knowledge in accounting principles and practices.
• Skills: Proficient working knowledge of ERP systems; strong skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting; familiarity with other Microsoft Office and Google applications like Word; excellent communication skills; a self-starter with attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and multi-task efficiently and accurately.
• Bonus: Holding a CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA candidacy is considered a significant plus.
