Complex Accounting Clerk | Shaner Hotels

The Tone:
This is an in-person role at the Faro Blanco Curio by Hilton and Courtyard by Marriott Marathon, a Shaner Hotels property, located in Marathon, FL. Shaner Hotels is an award-winning hotel owner-operator and management company with over 70 properties across 14 states and three countries. This role is crucial for assisting the financial department with administrative and clerical duties, performing essential office tasks, researching, and resolving discrepancies to ensure the smooth financial operation of the resort.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Policy Compliance & Verification: Maintain knowledge of and comply with all Shaner and Hilton policies and procedures, verifying the accuracy of invoices and taxation.
• Financial Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile vendor statements monthly and accounts in a timely manner, and run all month-end and accounts payable reports.
• Guest & Group Financial Support: Verify deposits and charge credit cards for upcoming groups, and assist guests with any billing-related inquiries and documentation.
• Accounting Document Management: Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records, including bank deposits, general ledger postings, and statements.
• Problem Resolution: Research, track, and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies efficiently.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High school graduate, with some college education, preferably accounting based.
• Experience: Proficient in relevant computer software and knowledgeable of property management systems.
• Skills: Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers, possess problem analysis and problem-solving skills, and be able to compute mathematical calculations. Knowledgeable of all accounting principles and procedures.
