Rotational Mechanical Engineer | LANXESS

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at LANXESS, located in Pittsburgh, PA. LANXESS is a leading specialty chemicals company with about 12,000 employees across 32 countries, focused on the development, manufacturing, and marketing of chemical intermediates, additives, and consumer protection products. This program is critical for developing a strong foundation in the Lanxess organization and core engineering skills, preparing individuals for future engineering roles at manufacturing plants in North America. The role offers hands-on experience through developing compliance and continuous improvement projects during rotations.

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Participation: Participate in a three-year development program with rotations across the Americas regional engineering center and manufacturing plants.
• Skill Development: Build a foundational understanding of the Lanxess organization and develop core engineering skills.
• Project Execution: Learn hands-on by leading and executing compliance and/or continuous improvement projects during rotations.
• Career Progression: Prepare for future engineering roles at manufacturing plants located throughout North America.
• Mobility: Relocate and travel domestically over a two to three-year period to support rotational assignments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Entry-level career stage.
• Experience: 0 – 3 years of engineering experience.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Bonus: Prior intern/co-op experience in manufacturing and/or design.
